Meet our 2026 Shady Nights Haunted Hayride Beneficiary - The Edwards Family
Justice was only five years old when he was first diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a devastating form of brain cancer. After undergoing brain surgery, his family watched as so many of the things we take for granted every single day were suddenly snatched away from him.
Justice had to learn how to walk, talk and eat all over again. He went through rehab. He worked hard. He made progress. Little by little, he began getting pieces of his childhood back.
Fast forward a year and a half and things were finally looking brighter. Justice was healing beautifully. He attended Camp Sunshine in July, returning full of excitement, and was looking forward to something most children dread - returning to school! Then his family received new no parent ever wants to hear. Justice's cancer had returned...with a vengeance. Stage 4 medulloblastoma.
Once again, this brave little boy underwent brain surgery to remove multiple tumors in the cerebellum. Now, he faces another difficult road ahead. Justice will be traveling back and forth to Emory for five weeks of radiation treatments. He is once again having difficulty walking and talking, and when treatment allows, he will have to begin rehabilitation all over again. At an age when his biggest worries should be school, friends, playing outside, and just being a kid, Justice is fighting for his life and working to regain abilities most of us never have to think about.
And he is not fighting alone. His mom, Briana has had to leave her job so she can care for Justice and his one-year-old little sister, Genesis. His dad, Xavier, is currently the families only source of income. Xavier is a firefighter with Rockdale County, spending his days selflessly serving and protecting others while he and his family face an unimaginable battle at home.

This year's Shady Nights Annual Benefit Haunted Hayride is for Justice and the Edward's Family. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping this family as they face the expenses, travel, treatments, rehabilitation and everyday financial burdens that come with fighting childhood cancer.
